Baby acne

posted 19th Nov
If your baby had it, how long did it take to clear up? The pedi told us it was normal and will go away in a week or two but he's already had it for a week now and it just keeps getting worse. Is there anything at all I can do for it, or should I just leave it alone? It looks so painful

Both sides of his face are like this and his chin is covered in it

That is how my daughter's was too. She didn't have it too bad and it was only around her cheeks. I actually didn't know it could get this bad.

My doctor gave us acne wash... you can get it over the counter and after you do the acne wash, use baby magic lotion... worked like a charm!

Low dose benzoyl acne wash... or a gentle acne wash nothing with scrubs in it.

Thanks, I've been afraid to put anything on it because I didn't want to make it worse. If it doesn't go away in a couple days I'll probably bring him in and ask for some wash or cream.

He's 2 weeks and 4 days. This picture is a couple days old too, it's even worse now.

He doesn't but he has been extremely fussy the last 2 or 3 days and I'm wondering if this has something to do with it. It looks like it has to hurt some or itch.

I had a couple other people tell me this too! I have some that DD uses so I'll definitely try it.

It could be. Should I just try to cut out dairy for a couple days and see?

He is having a ton of gas and runny poop.

Its hard to say because newborns have runny poop anyway and he gas may be from a bad latch. What does his pedi say? Just that it will go away? Do they know its gotten worse?
