Callan

As of right now, DS will be named Maxwell Avrum (DH's middle name as well) or Callahan Jude. We're still not 100%.

I had someone today mention Callan to me as a suggestion instead of using Callahan. What do you think of the name Callan for a boy? Is Callan a made up name? It's pronounced KAL-an. What are your thoughts?

Stick to Callahan.

If you do go with Callan, I think CAI-LAN would be better sounding...

Never heard of it. But I've heard of Calan pronounced Kay-lan. Another very close variant that came to mind is a personal favorite of mine, Canaan. But that might be too far off from your tastes.

Callahan Jude is awesome!

Sounds made up. Go with Callahan (if you must, I think it sounds more like a last name than a first, but that's JMO). Maybe Kellan or Keelan.

You don't get to just make up pronunciations for a name. That's not how the English language works.

Callahan is a last name.

I'm not so sure about it. Just asking for opinions on it since someone brought it up. I thought it was a made up name. Lol. I love Callahan but I HATE Cal as a nickname. We're most likely going with Maxwell Avrum. DH wants to use his middle name (Avrum) and I've always loved Max since I was a little girl.

Your words: "if you do go with Callan, I think CAI-LAN would be better sounding.".. meaning that she should pronounce it CAI-LAN, but spell it Callan. Which is apparently not what you meant, but IS what you said. "Sounding" =/= "spelling".
