He doesn't legally have to, she never went after him for it but if she calls and says Alauni needs something he'll send money or buy whatever she needs and send it to them. He sends the money to Alauni's grandma, because he's afraid her mom will use it for drugs or booze.

If he had to fight for it, probably. But she's pretty good about letting him see her when they're in town. We get along really well with her, it's just they live so far and Kyle and Alauni's mom work a lot so unless he takes time off work and we go get her or she takes off work and brings her to us we only get to see her when they come into town. But Kyle talks to her on the phone almost every night
