I know on Teen Mom (Amber & Gary) that Amber signed her rights over to Gary. I was hoping we could kinda do the same thing....

Oh he's still going to be in her life. We are going to follow the parenting plan that we have established through court now, he just won't legally have any rights.

I'm going through that now with DH  
& even though my daughter's dad isn't on the BC, he still needs to sign over all rights for the adoption and my lawyer even said if he was on the BC the only way he could sign rights over would be because of an adoption.

I think she gave full custody to Gary.

Well, he said full custody AND rights, I think he thinks they're the same too.

I think it is really sad that he has to be put in the position to give up the rights to his child. I know from reading your past post that you and him were having a lot of issues, but for him to have to give up his daughter is sad to me.

He knows he doesn't HAVE to, but he is willing to. It'd make it a lot easier on ALL of us. I will NEVER keep her from him unless he's wayyy off his rocker on drugs or something (and I don't mean smoking a little marijuana). We are great separated, but not together.

Full custody means that you make all decisions about your daughter by yourself. Meaning her religion, schooling, medical care etc. Signing over his rights ( which is nearly impossible to unless you are married) would mean that he is forfeiting his right to see his daughter, to support her, to make decisions and basically everything of that nature.
