Lemon Chicken

The recipe calls for a dry white wine. All we have to buy ingredients is food stamps so obviously we can't buy a bottle of wine. So my question is what can I use instead? Has anyone ever made this and used something other than wine?
Also the recipe calls for fresh herbs, do you think it it would be ok to use dried herbs instead?

Do you have any chicken stock or broth soups? Try herbs are fine, it won't taste bad but not exactly the same way it would with fresh herbs.

Maybe cooking sherry? Its a non alcoholic cooking wine sold in grocery stores.

You can buy cooking wine with food stamps. It's in a different section.

If you can't get the cooking wine, a chicken stock or brothy soup will be fine. I hate cooking with wine, I always substitute it from stock or broth lol.

For lemon chicken, I've always used lemon juice, slices of cut up lemons on top of chicken and oregano....

Yeah I'm not the most expert cooker so I will go with chicken stock. Do I use the same mesurements and everything for it?

Oh okay just making sure! I was going to tell you to bring the chicken to a simmer after you put in the stock just to ensure it thickens a bit. An oven will do that on its own.

That's what they usually mean in recipes is the cooking wine. I use the dry white vermouth for shrimp scampi with linguine and it's awesome.
