Modifying child support

If my sons father requested a modification hearing, would I be present at this hearing as well? I figured they would at least send me papers to fill out with my income and stuff like they usually do. We live in different states so we always do it over the phone.


He just texted me and said don't forget about our modification hearing tomorrow. I said what? I never got anything. So I called my domestic relations office and they told me there's no way it's a modification hearing because they'd do that with both of us present and they have not been notified.
They told me its most likely a non payment hearing since he hasn't paid since March and I wouldn't have to be present for that.

He's swearing its not a non payment hearing, it's a hearing to modify his amount.

I don't know who's right...

Wellllll.... your case worker doesn't have any reason to lie to you.

Maybe your ex really thought it was a modification hearing. Could be a misunderstanding on his part.

did you get papers in the mail??? chances are its a non payment hearing. especially if the worker told you that. i hope he doesnt go in empty handed!!!

No. No papers. It just seems weird. And he's ALWAYS empty handed. He's not working lol, he's lived in a half way house since July and says he's not allowed to work as "part of his recovery"

yea that doesn't sound right... I doubt that you need to be there because it is prodbably an enforcement hearing...

He cant work as part of his recovery??? that seems odd as well... he will have to ahow some proof... smh, MEN
