If your other 2 kids came on time, your chances of carrying to term are good even after a preemie. Do they know why that happened?
My son wasn't nearly as premature but he came at 35 weeks. I had my second at 38 weeks, although I did have preterm labor at 35 weeks. I swore if I had another preemie I was done having kids.
Good luck! I hope she pulls through.

Well i had 3 kids after having a preemie.   There are things they can do to limit the chances of this happening again. Progesterone shots and weekly or bi-weekly monitoring depending on what's going on. I've also heard that vitamin C can help to reduce the risks of Pprom. If the issue was contractions, there's stuff they can do to limit those or do more frequent testing for UTI's. You have had 2 other kids, so this might be random too. In my experience, you'll never look at pregnancy the same way again. It will never seem 'safe' or even 'normal' again, but that doesn't mean it's not possible to have more kids. It's just going to take more work.

So far, both my pregnancies have resulted in preemies. This one is likely to as well.
Though, there's a good chance you could carry to term after this one, since your other two were.

Sorry, i was just confused. Honestly, my first was in the NICU and wasn't really a preemie (38 weeks) my second was 36 weeks and came home the next day. You never know what's going to happen. But don't get ahead of yourself. Enjoy this baby while you have it. Babies don't keep. Focus on this baby, the here and now, before you worry about another. And, why not have another? Every pregnancy is different... like I said though, focus on this baby now

We planned on after this one was about 2 years old or older on having a 4th.

Yes im pregnant right now, with my water broken, stuck in the hospital til she comes or we induce at 34 weeks.

Im asking, would you risk another kid after an episode like this?
I have to think about this stuff now.

First 2 came out just find.. this one is just a fluke I think. Everything including blood and cultures have came out normal.. theres no real reason as to why my water broke

I was on antibiotics to prevent the UTI's though.. they really dont know why my water broke! The high risk dr said it just happens sometimes... so I dont know if it can be preventable or not....

Yes i think I would since the two came out full term and the pre term baby had no discernible reason.

I just think about these things though because I need to think about tieing my tubes now or putting it off. Being Type 1 diabetic isnt the best to be having kids but im doing very well and have with this baby.. no issues or complications except for 2 UTI's and then being put on antibiotics for it.. then bam, WATER BROKE! lol I dont know... its confusing.

Right.. I just dont want to risk this again for my health or the baby. Steroid shots.. Mag... it all sucks and I dont want to put another baby through this, let alone myself or my family. This is literally the hardest thing ive ever had to go through.

Sometimes you can build up immunities to the antibiotics. They can actively test your urine every 2 weeks if they want to. That will show them if there are any resistant bacteria floating around in there. Preventative antibiotics can work, but they'd just have to be more up your rear about it. That's what i meant about the testing. I mean the chances of you getting 2 pregnancies with frequent UTI's with resistant bacteria if you haven't had this before are slim though. (If that was the issue)

For me, there was really no question what was going on. My first pregnancy was a disaster. The issues with high risk pregnancy is that even if they find something and treat you for it, that doesn't mean you're excluded from all of the other possible pregnancy issues. I mean, i had one successful pregnancy without any additional issues outside of my cervix. My middle baby was an IUGR baby and they kept wanting to induce me. They started doing amnios at 34 weeks with him just to see how his lung maturity was progressing and if it was safe to take him. He was just barely full term because i got induced practically the second i turned 37 weeks. Everything ended fine though. It was just dramatic. My 3rd baby's pregnancy seemed like everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, but I still ended up with a full term huge baby. You never know how it's going to go.

Even with all of that stuff that i was talking about, if i truly felt like i wanted to get pregnant again, the risks wouldn't stop me. There is never any sort of guarantee with pregnancy anyway. It's just that people who have had disaster pregnancies have seen some of those risks they write pamphlets about. For us, I always planned for the worst and hoped for the best. I planned on bedrest and/or possible hospitalization. I made back-up plans for someone to take the kids. I always found out who was home and able to take the boys and when. I made meals that I could stick in the freezer just in case i wasn't suppose to get out of bed. ...etc...etc...
