re: Are Muslims "seceding" in New York?

Quoting ~Julie Blue Eyes~:" What would convince you that this was true?"

Proof. I did a search and there are a lot of "allegations" but very little proof from reputable sources. Very little that is corroborated at all. I mean, this "someone from inside told us: this" is not proof.

I can make those up at anytime. Anyone can, and people who WANT to believe it will believe it. I want proof, that's it. Some evidence. This is just a story from a man that he supposedly interviewed. The man could have said anything he wanted for any reason.

So, what source would you believe?

A source that had proof. Haven't I already explained this? I wouldn't even believe CNN if they said "we talked to so and so who said this" without any sort of proof. Documentation. Video evidence. The reason no ones done anything yet, from what I can see, if that there is no proof.

I could go and do an interview saying I saw all those same things in YOUR town, pay for a website, put it up, and you'd believe it just because it's on the internet?

I believe this is propaganda, as well. The only things I can find on the subject are people who are already anti-muslim, and videos that say "Well, the FBI and all that have checked on them, and say everything is fine... But I don't believe it."

Yeah the site seems very anti-muselm to me in general. I have yet to see any proof of it actually happening.

England says it's already happening (Sha'ria). Australia is making moves to ensure it doesn't happen there.

Seems like a valid concern and not just something that can be dismissed as "propaganda". These communtities do, in fact, exist.

Communities may exist, but where is the proof that they're doing anything illegal? Do you believe you shoudl be able to step in just because you don't like a persons religion?

I mean. . . are there not communities of Amish as well? Small towns where almost EVERYONE is Christian (bible belt).

You're trying to associate ANY grouping of Muslims with terrorist activities. If there's a group of Muslims they MUST be bad and planning to attack and abusing each other.

Where is the proof that that is happening? There isn't any. It's only based on their faith, which I think is wrong.

A lot of people are immigrating, yes. Wouldn't you? I believe this is just propaganda from people who are afraid of different cultures and religions. Look at what happened during WW1 with the japanese that lived in the US. Ignorant Christian people are trying to do the same.

Just because a group of the same type of people live together, doesnt mean they are plotting against the US. If they wanted the same laws and way they were living, they would stay in their own country.

Exactly!!

You can't post something so obviously biased and treat it as "proof" without any evidence at all.

I didn't say they were doing anything "illegal". My question is: Is it a concern? Should *anyone look into these claims. If it's true, what should be done, if anything?

Courts in other countries are honoring sha'ria. This isn't a disputed fact.

David Koresh (sp) was the leader of a "Christian" CULT. Jim Jones led people to their deaths. I don't feel any differently about ANY group that feels their laws are superior and should trump American law.

If they aren't doing anything illegal, then why should anyone step in? Again, do we not have Amish communities? Do we not have communities who are nearly all, if not all, Christian? Why then should we be targeting a community based merely on their faith?

Also, it sounds like it has been looked into and that they have found no illegal activities. So what do you want to do? I mean. . . if they're not breaking any laws, what is the problem? Those other cults were dealt with when they were breaking the law and harming people. If that is the case here, it should be dealt with. However, it should NOT be targeted simply because it's a grouping of Muslims. That's horribly ignorant.

We need to tap their phone lines and install cameras in their homes!

No, but really. Some European countries allow them to solve their own disputes, much like the Amish. As long as it does not interfere with the public interest, which they should have every right to do, seeing as it is their freedom of religion and is not hurting anyone else....except for making stereotypical, extreme Christians paranoid.

The town has been around for nearly 30 years. I would think in 30 years actual proof of this guys hardcore terrorist activities would have been easily proven by now.

That last sentence tells me that YOU are the one stereotyping.

I know loads of Atheists, Christians, Buddhists and even some Muslims who are genuinely concerned about this.

You have made this about Muslims vs Christian. It's not. It's about adherence to American law.

I'm going to research this further to try and determine the truth. Even still, truth is subjective. Can't see it helping much but to satisfy my own curiosity.
