And I think it's totally insane to allow kids to eat crap food just because it's easier.

See how that makes it seem like that's your point? Likewise, what you're saying isn't really the point I'm making either. I get your point, and I am saying that, once again, I wouldn't give my kids one food they didn't like and expect them to eat it. If it's a trend of poor eating habits however, then yep. They will eat healthy foods or they'll eat no foods. It isn't "you'll you carrots or nothing." It's, "You'll eat healthy food or nothing."

What do you consider crap foods? Because I think that pasta is junk but a lot of people don't.

No one ever said anything about demanding a kid to eat something...or letting them starve. We are simply saying that they have healthy choices and many of them. Theyve gotta like some of it. I know my kids dont like brocolli so i never make it even though i love it..and i wont make them eat it, but they do love asparagus, carrots and green beans so i made that...They dont care for potatoes much so we eat lots of rice.
Just saying you cant always give the kid "their" choice cause chances are they will pick the junk! Im under the impression that the childs parents dont really care and let the kid eat whatever, which is prob the way he/she is...and thats not the childs fault at all its the parents for not offering and being more strict about eating good foods.
Im no crazy person my kids still get junk and candy and treats, but they eat healthy stuff too and they do no tell me what they are eating ever.

I consider crap foods to be pizza, mcdonalds liek OP had mentioned...pop, chips, chicken nuggets, french fries. Pasta isnt great lots but we eat it prob once or twice a week,we make spagehetti sauces with tons of veggies in it... Alfredo with chicken and peas in it...Stuff like that.

Yep, white pasta is pretty much crap. Highly processed foods. Sugar foods. Most grains honestly.

My kids may get those thigns on occasion, but they will not get to choose them in place of healthy foods they just don't want to eat. Fruits, veggies, lean meats, and healthy nuts (not salted or sugared) are GOOD foods. Also a reasonable amount of healthy fats. My kids want those things? Good. WIth the exception of the really starchy veggies (white potatoes and corn) they can have as much as they want. This means if they don't like the soup I made for dinner, they can choose a salad, or cut veggies, or something like that. They cannot choose mac&cheese. They cannot choose pb&j sandwiches. They also have to give the food a REAL try.

Generally I make a meal with a few sides however, so what happens is if they don't like the chicken, or the steak, they'll have more sides. Anymore that's rare. My daughter is used to eating healthy foods so she's happy. My son is more difficult, but he's adjusting.

We love whole wheat pasta... I like the barilla "plus" which we buy. i dont think its "junk" food. i think they are healthy pasta alternatives like spaghetti squash and stuff, but pasta isnt BAD for you. unless you eat it allll the time.

I dont really like pasta. I make it as a treat for DH sometimes but most of our meals are chicken with a veg,.sometimes a turkey burger, or turkey kielbasa. I make a potato or rice for DH. I'm getting pickier°c and pickier in my old age. So many foods just feel so heavy. I'm trying to lose weight so maybe that's why.

its so easy and you cant eat it with just salt and pepper too adn its good. i like to add a tad or margarine if i eat it that way..might defeat the purpose of eating healthy but it wont kill me! haha
