But the child uses " my mommy lets me" its just tough feeling like the bad guy. I mean the child had ALOT to eat. And kept asking for MORE. I would never let my kid eat like that, but what if theynare still hungry? Idk..

I would make them lunch. If he/she wants to eat again right after say no, we will have a snack in a couple of hours. At snack time give them a healthy snack. Regaurdless if the kid is over weight, there is no reason why you should feel like you have to let them constantly eat.

Just prepare their meals. I would be giving them water when they are thirsty, seeing as it's not necessary to give them coke. Then if they are hungry there would be certain things they could snack on, and certain meals that i could prepare for them. I wouldn't just let them go through my cupboards and eat whatever they want. And not because they are overweight, I just don't think it's necessary to let the kid choose everything they eat, or it will be junk. Giving them options is a good thing, but not when it's all crap. Basically I would let them eat as much as they feel necessary, but it would be better foods. I feel they'd be less likely to want to eat more if it isn't loaded with sugar and stuff.

I never refuse my kids food. I just offer them specific things. Fruits and veggies as snacks. So if they eat whatever lunch was and are still hungry, they can have cut up bell peppers. If htey don't want cut up bell peppers, then they aren't really that hungry.

That's my policy, for any kids at my house, whether they are mine or someone elses. When my niece says that she can have soda at home I tell her that's fine, then she can have some when she gets home. We don't drink that at my house though.

Quoting ☮ Phuket:" Say your babysitting, one child is 9 years old, and is pretty overweight for being that age. They come ... [snip!] ... a banana to eat. Orjust let the kid eat all the food in your house so you dont look like an smurf thats starving a child?"

i dont want any kid to eat a bunch of crappy food at my house UNLESS that is truly all they eat and they are a healthy weight.
If the kid was overweight i would have healthy fod around and just one treat.

If you know you are going to babysit that put up the junk and keep healthier food around so they can pig out on what you have. I don't think it is up to you to choose what the child eats and if he is overweight. That is up to his parents to handle. With you watching the kid ever so often is not going to make a big difference in his weight. But when I watched my niece I would buy crap for us to eat and just pig out and watch movies but we would also go outside and play.

Sounds like she eats just to eat. Maybe make a meal/snack schedule so she knows when she can eat and snack? And with the whole my mommy let's me tell her I'm not mommy, I do things differently at my house.

I'd tell them all I have is this for you to eat. I wouldnt keep giving kid junk food on top what they just ate over weight or not. That cant be healthy at all.

wtf 20 ??? i cant even eat that. My kids barely can eat 4.
If the kid is hungry he/she will eat whatever you prepare if he/she really is hungry.
If they dont want to eat your food they must not really be hungry adn just be more of a habit of eating junk!

If the child's parents packed it for them I would give them it. But out of my own budget I would give them something healthy

That honestly makes me sad. I don't understand how parents can neglect their children's health like that. It causes problems for when the kid is old enough to understand their habits aren't healthy. Then they've never been taught how to have healthy habits and it's a struggle. Sorry, not to trash talk the people you are babysitting for, it just bugs me. Good luck with getting her to eat what you make though.
