Anyone had stitches??

My son fell out of his bed last week and split his chin open on his nightstand. So we went to the ER and he got 2 stitches. They told us to go back in 5-7 days to have them removed which would be between yesterday and tomorrow. I sent him to his dad's for visitation and his dad says they just fell out. Now there's a scab there and a little bump thats kind of "fluidy" looking.


Has anyone ever heard of stitches just falling out? Would you take him to the doctor for them to check it?

I had surgery on the Nov 2nd and 2 of my 5 stitches fell out. If the bump hurts, gets hot, starts oozing, or gets spreading redness around it, call the doctor, that could mean infection. Otherwise it should be fine.   GL!

I had 7 stitches in my fingers, and had to get them taken out, they didn't fall out. I had some in my mouth after having my wisdom teeth out, and they dissolved. If it looks infected take him to get checked, if not, maybe they did fall out.
