Stopping progesterone shots?

I couldnt find much through google, but what happens if you stop taking the progesterone shots? My levels have only gone up to 18 ( in three weeks, with shots three times a week) but the dr asked if I wanted to stop them today seeing as they arnt really doing me any good.

Umm, I would think your Dr would up the dose vs stop it all together since there is a chance of a spontaneous abortion when doing that.

Is it possible to carry a pregnancy with low progesterone? 18 is the highest its been, it started at 11.

Im on the highest dose you can take, but he expected it to be around 30-40 today. I did take todays shot but he told me to think about my wednesday one.

How far along are you?
By 12 weeks the placenta should be developed and progesterone supplements are not necessary any longer.

Also, what measurement is that? 18 what?

Im 7 weeks 4 days. 18per ML? I think. I know they *idealy* want to see it at 50. I have no idea where the paper is at.

II would ask about suppositories....I was on them up until recently. Do some research on the different ways of taking Progesterone. Taking Vaginally 2- 3 times a day is the most effective. Shots is the second most effective route.

I would not stop them till at least when the placenta takes over which is usually about 12 weeks

I was always told that 15 is the lowest number you can have to sustain a pregnancy. Have you tried the suppositories?

No all they offered was the shot, im going to give them a call and see if I can do the suppositories.

Ask for the suppositories and it doesn't have to be at 15, that is not the lowest. I am not sure the lowest but mine have been a bit lower and I still kept my pregnancies. This has happened with all 3 of my pregnancies and I have 2 kids to show for it and I am 26 weeks right now. I would not stop all together though.
