Kindergarten requirements??

Does anyone know a general list of things your child should know before kindergarten? TIA

Here they stress being able to follow instructions. Of course being potty trained. ABC's, and we have birthday requirements. That is about it.

Last I knew, they had to be potty trained, know their ABC's and count to 10.

They like them to know their full name, simple shapes and colors, and address and phone number are a plus. Mostly when they screen the jist look to see if the child can follow simple instructions. Like even if the child gets the color wrong, at least the answer with a color.
But if you are wanting to prepare your child those are a few of the basics.

Around here in our schools they want the kids to know their full name and write it, their address, phone number, parents names, ABC's, count to 20, colors, shapes, how to tie their shoes, potty trained and be able to use scissors. They also have to turn 5years before December 15th. I think it's asking a bit much of them and what exactly are they going to teach them to do?

Nah, I don't. Teaching starts at home. You have 5 whole years to teach all of that, it's not really a lot. They teach them days of the week, letter sounds, beginner words, things of that nature. They do learn a lot there.

This! Even if you don't want to teach your kids Sesame Street will do it for you. There is no real reason for a typical learner not to know most f year things

Nobody assumed anything. You need to calm down, just because others assume or judge, doesn't mean everyone does.
By saying "you" in a post doesn't always mean you specifically. In this case you = parents.

Thank yall for all of your responses. That is what I was thinking. My friend asked me though after we couldn't find anything online telling us what we needed to know! Appreciate it!
