Dexter Nicholas. or Nicholas Shaun (I didnt pick SP its my dead brothers name)


Love the Nickname Dex, but also love Nicky...

Well, i'd be torn, I really like Dexter, but it's nice to have the memorial of naming after your brother.

I would've named my 2nd after my brother that passed if 1) it wasn't a girl, and 2) my dude/her dad didn't have the same name.

So, i'd be torn on that.

ETA: though i guess you have it as the MN if it's dexter. so, maybe Dexter.

I hate the spelling of his name but I feel like I should we were really close. I love Dex, but hate the meaning of the name Dexter so I am really torn.

Thats a hard one....I don't believe either flows well together.  

I am open to suggestions on any of the names above with alternate middle names.

I have issues with naming children after dead people. Especially, close relatives. IMO the child needs to have their own name, own identity. It brings a lot of weight on to the child to be a constant reminder of someone gone.

I voted Nicholas before I knew that was your brothers name, simply because I don't really care for the name Dexter, but If you absolutely have to have the name, I'd Say use Dexter. It's a little less worrisome when it's a middle name.

My son has my late brother's middle name as his middle name. However, that's because it is also my Grandpa's and father's middle name as well. It meant a lot to my grandpa that the tradition was kept. So just like his first born son and first born grandson. His first born Great grandson also has his middle name for their middle name.

I can kinda agree with that.
I want Cole if this one is a boy (and what Clara would've been since her dad is already a Jason) , cos it was the son of the guy in my brother's favorite movie. (Mr. Holland's Opus) Still a connection, but not his name.

I like the use of family names. That being said - I adore Dexter. I think it's bold and interesting and makes a really cool statement without being trendy or stupid.

I like dex but not dexter. Not a fan of the Nickname nicky on a boy. Sooo I guess I would go with Nicholas shaun
