33wk u/s anatomy

posted 19th Nov
So I got today at 1:00 for another u/s they are going to be measuring the baby again to see how big he is. I was told I have a smaller pelvis opening than most women and most likley not be able to deliver a 8lb baby on my own. The u/s is not done in my Drs office because he doesn't have the mechine. Do you think they will tell me how much he wieghs or if anything is found wrong? I don't get to see him for a couple days after. Thank you

the tech can't tell you anything (except maybe how much he weighs).

No they wont tell you if anything is wrong they will send the results to the doctor. They can give you an estimate on weight but it could be off by 2 or more lbs at this stage so its not very accurate.

The tech won't tell you anything. But keep in mind that the ultrasound weight is not always accurate. Wasn't for me.

I know the weight can be off they are doing a level 2 u/s. However I was thinking they would tell me the weight which is the only reason I' getting one because I have already had two level two u/s when I was in L&D plus the one they did at my 20wk appointment..Thank you.

My mom has a small pelvis and had 3 c-sections. What she did was tried to labor vaginally but when nothing was happening after 10+ hours she had a c-section.

Depending on where you are having your ultrasound. I have regular growth checks, due to a two vescle umbilical cord, and the ladies can tell me stuff. They were the ones to tell me about his cord. They also give me the estimate that the computer comes up with for his weight and size. Like I said its just an estimate, but yes, they were able to tell me a lot. They are not just techs there. They also check his heart and kidneys every time, and tell me they look great.

I just got back and there was a Dr there so they were able to go over everything with me   He weighs 4lbs and 1oz. His whole anatomy looks great he is right on track. He is head down and also practicing breathing. I am one happy momma   Thank you ladies for your input.

I had mine today, I am 35 weeks and lo is estimated to be about 5lbs 13 oz's, Also head down, and practice breathing. He had big large, chubby cheeks, and his hair was sticking up like a buzz cut. I cant find my scanner, cuz I just moved, but as soon as I do, it will be my new avi.

My son was born with lots of dirty blonde hair and my daughter was born basically bald, so I have been asking at every US. This time she said she could see it floating around, and got a great pic. Its weird, but the way she took the picture his hair is glowing. Im so friggin excited to see this little guy.

Awww. I'm so happy for you. Not to much longer. This is my first one so I'm getting very excited but nervous because I really don't know what to expect. I have evrything washed and ready for his grand entrance. I have half on my hospital bag packed which I'm not to worried about because I live like not even 5 mins from the hospital so my DH or mom can run home if there is something that I need.

be careful. i've read too many posts about women being scared into a c section because they were told their babies were over 8 pounds or whatever.

c-section happens and the baby weight like 6 pounds. so if you're wanting a vaginal birth, i think you should get a second opinion

Yea I know I have heard that too. I think he is going to let me try vaginaly but he said baby could get stuck in birth canal. I have alot of babies in my family that he has delieverd so I don't think he would stear me wrong but yea I have read alot on that.
