False BFP clearblue digital?

posted 19th Nov
I was in now way ttc but I figure this is the best place to ask. Last night my cousin bought a box of five because she suspected she was pregnant. She asked me to take one with her, mine said pregnant, hers said not pregnant. I just had a baby in May via c-section and do not want another anytime soon.

I squeezed out enough pee for another test maybe 30 minutes later, not pregnant. Took another this morning and another not pregnant.

could that first one have been false maybe? is that common?

Hmmm...Are you sure you and your friend didn't get your tests mixed up?

I'm pretty sure there are no such things as false positives. You can get false negatives but usually if you get a positive - that means your pregnant.

I mean I know you can evap lines but if it was a digital I don't think that would apply here.

It depends on how diluted your pee is. Since your first one was positive, I'd test again after a 4 hour old or use FMU.

False positives are rare.

False positives= very rare
False Negatives= happen all the time

Especially with a digital there is no hmm is that really a second line question. I would test again in a week or go to the doctor for blood work.

Are they different brand tests? Hmmm I would go get a line test and see what happens. Digitals have a hard time picking up the hormone depending on what your levels are

I have never heard of a false BFP on a digi. However, if the FMU this morning was negative than thats a little weird. I would probably get a blood test done.

It could have been a chemical pregnancy? I mean I guess it could be possible, but I would assume its very very rare.

ive heard if your ovulating sometimes it confuses the test, since digitals pick up on LH hormone too..

id go get a FRER or a line test to see if i saw any line.... but i have heard of false positive on digis before its just rare
