Another thanksgiving post, help!

posted 19th Nov
On thanksgiving we are going to Furr's buffet   with DH's family. But I want a yummy home made turkey dinner. DH works Friday, Sat, and Sunday though, so I'm thinking I'll just make the turkey on saturday or sunday with maybe baked mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, and rolls and take some of it to his work. What do I need to buy? Like, to transport this food. Anything special? I, of course, have pans and casseroles and what not. I want to stop at the store this afternoon and buy everything, so I just need and idea of if I need anything special. Also, any good baked mac n cheese recipes?!?!

I would just put everything in foil pans and take them in a box.

haha.....that's a good idea. I was imagining myself trying to hold everything while holding my sons hand to cross the parking lot.

When my SO gets take out from the Diner in his hometown (about 20 minutes from our house) He puts the to-go containers in one of those fold down coolers... Keeps all the heat in!! Maybe put it in a cooler, with wheels? Now THAT would be easy transportation lol

We have a small cooler with no wheels, lol. I would imagine that DH would be able to come help me but sometimes they get super busy so I can't count on it. I could put the cooler on my sons stroller!

Awww. I tried one last year and it was pretty good. I think I got it off here, I should look. I wanted to make green bean casserole but DH would rather have mac n cheese.

    1. 1. Prepare pasta according to package directions. Keep warm. 2. Melt butter in a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium-low heat; whisk in flour until smooth. Cook, whisking constantly, 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk, and cook, whisking constantly, 5 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in salt, black and red pepper, 1 cup shredded cheese, and cooked pasta. 3. Spoon pasta mixture into a lightly greased 2-qt. baking dish; top with remaining 1 cup cheese. 4. No. DH finally told me just to go but when I got to work this morning I found out that we have patients on Monday and another person is on vacation so they can't cover my office. I just figured it wasn't meant to be. I was too emotional about it yesterday to continue stressing today.
