Kittie is a nickname from my sister after she joked that I was like a hot version of Kitty Foreman and it kind of stuck. I'm not called Kittie by everyone and even if I WAS, it's not like thats the name I have to put on my resumes and live with forever. Thank the gods my mom had a brain and gave me a decent name.

Vivienne was prettier.

It's a tad dated - I actually went through a stage of hating it when I was like 14, but then I realized I was lucky. (It's Cassandra - a little 80's, but it has suited me well through my career paths and I feel like I can be taken seriously. I've always gone by Cassie in my personal life, but at work, I'm Cassandra.)

It was pretty popular back then, I think. I had a few peers with my same name I actually had a girl a few grades ahead of me who had my same first, middle and last name. The only thing that was different was that her middle name was spelled differently.

Lol that's odd. I know a lot of Shelby Lynn's.... It's a pretty common name once I started growing up. Never went to school with a Shelby though, all through grade school and high school

I've only actually met two Shelby's in real life. One a little boy in my Churches daycare when I was younger and I had one in my high school - who, in fact, was a Shelby Lynn! But other than that, I've never come across it.

If you want to use Ryleigh then use it. Its your kid. There are far worse names then Ryleigh...like that one girl who wanted to name her daughter lyriq jesse something or other. I have 2 daughters who BOTH have "male" names. Rylee and Dakota. I get complements on Rylee's spelling often and complements on Dakotas name. I just wish Rylees name wasnt so popular but thats what I liked. I feel the internet makes it hard to choose a name because there are too many opinions. I was so torn with my 2nd she didnt have a set name until the day she was born because I kept reading how awful the names I picked were. With Rylee we had no computer and her name was set for months

It's a name - not a personal attack, lmao.

I find it funny you have to keep commenting in this thread after it was made clear your opinions weren't cared for or wanted. Not everyone cares what you think!   Imagine that? It's her kid, not yours, its not your concern what "might" happen to her daughter in the future because of the name HER MOTHER chose for her. She said it held special meaning to her, that was the end of it, but you had to keep it going. Move on, since your so "classy." Sheesh!

LMFAO - it's a public forum, I can post where I want. I don't care if my opinions are unwanted, when you post something on a a PUBLIC forum, you are going ot get comments and opinions that differ from yours - if you don't like it, then go somewhere that is not public.

That being said - I DO care what happens to ALL kids in the future and it's selfish for her to not even consider the impact of the name she is considering.
