Spill them We're hosting Thanksgiving this year (do not ask how I got roped into this, because I don't know). We have to do two separate dinners, one's tomorrow and the other is actually on Thanksgiving. I have a roasted sweet potato dish that I'm doing, an apple dessert, turkey, and a few other things, but wanted to know if you had some highly praised, simple, and not too heavy on the wallet dishes to share

We always do a homemade Mac and cheese dish. We use the outback steakhouse copycat recipe, so basically just Velveeta and pasta, but its Sooo delicious and creamy. Much better than box Mac and cheese.

it;s just going to be me and hubby this year (we live some 20 hours from family) we are having turkey breasts, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry jelly, rolls/biscuits, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream topping.
If we had people coming over I'd make my grandma's corn casserole recipe, sweet potato casserole, have a pickle, olive, and veggie tray too, and some sort of apple pie/crisp.

We are having turkey both times, plus ham on Thursday. Tuesday we are having roasted sweet potatoes, fresh corn on the cob, biscuits, green bean casserole, and the apple crescents for dessert. Thursday is our big meal, with more family and friends and we are having all of the above, plus chili available for those who get here before others, pull apart bread, stuffed mushrooms, and roasted cabbage. People will be bringing food also, but we will have large crowds, as we are "neutral" territory for family and our house is decent enough for out of state guests, where my mothers is so small and cluttered there's no space.

I just want Thanksgiving out of the way so I can start celebrating Christmas
Hopefully this year we'll be gifting ourselves a BFP, that's what I'm hoping for at least, but I just love the spirit of December.
