Melissa and Doug toys

posted 19th Nov
Are they worth the price? Easy to clean if I buy used for Christmas? What do your kids have that they really like? LO will be 3.

My kids LOVE Melissa and Doug. So worth it. My kids' favorites are the puzzles (specifically the one with all kinds of locks on it and the animal ones) and the fake foods/cooking sets.

Are they fairly easy to clean if I buy used? I know they're wooden. I usually clean with a vinegar/water mix. Will that be safe for them?

I love their line of toys, mostly cos i just love wooden toys and am kinda anti-plastic toys.
Easy to clean, and the best part, since they're wooden, they're harder to beat/ware down so will keep the 'new' look longer, even if they're used. (so worth the price)
(we have a huge wooden bus everyone loves, it's 6 years old, looks like we bought it yesterday)
BUT ANYWAYS (sorry for the rant  )

we love

really any of the food ones

What do you use to clean them?

Very worth it! I love Melissa & Doug toys, DS has a ton. He's 3 and has a felt sandwich kit, a wooden fruit and veggie chopping kit, tons of puzzles, a magnet dress up, and he has some soft toy kits that he got as an infant that he still loves to play with.

This.
Clara doesn't put things in her mouth though either, so i don't know how safe they are for kids who might. But, this is what i use.

My kid's a chewer (even at three, he gets it from me.   ) and I don't use any cleaners that aren't natural except for the swiffer wet cloths I got from my MIL.

i've found them easy to clean as they do have like a polish on them so crayon marks come without much effort. I think vinegar with water won't damage them.

Oh, and the magnetic dress up ones are AWESOME. My middle son is crazy about those. He's great about sharing but those are HIS.
