How long does a turkey take to thaw?

We bought a 17 pound turkey today, its froxen i stuck it in te fridge to thaw, but im afraid it wont be thawed out by thursday. Do you think it will thaw in time?

It SHOULD but you can give it occasional cool baths to speed it up. Make sure it's in the very bottom as well, usually the higher part of the fridge is colder

Okay thanks, if i feellike it isnt thawed out enough ill stick it in the sink.. Idk why i didnt think of that lol

Maybe. I bought an 11 pound "pre-thanksgiving" turkey last thursday night & I went to cook it this morning & it was still frozen on the inside.. It cooked alright, but it took forever.

I'm gonna jump start my thawing on the counter for a few hours tomorrow, then let it finish in the fridge and pull it for a few hours Wed if needed

Or if instead of the sink you can put it in the tub if you have a cat. That's what we did at my mom's house. Good thing we had 2 bathrooms!!
