my mom thinks she had a miscarriage

posted 18th Nov
i personally dont think she was pregnant. she has no idea if she was pregnant or not. but this month she started AF or so she thought a week and half early but only passed something in the shape and size of a almond. had no more bleeding after that for a few days then started AF normally. normal flow and everything. the last time she had sex was 3 months ago but she had her period every month and its was abnormally heavy for her period, shes 45 if age matters. what does it sound like to you? iv had a miscarriage before but what happened to me sounds nothing like this. now shes talking about going and getting a D&C and she doesnt even know if she was pregnant. what do you think?

Could be early menopause.

Could be pre menopause symptoms.

She is right on for heavy flow for the age group for perimenopause.

She can take a test and it would still show up + if she was.

No doc is going to just do a DC on a whim, so don't even worry about it!

She should probably have her doctor check her out just to be sure & then decide from there.

My mom got pregnant two days after me. She had a misscarage and it was nothing like what you described.

It could be a lot of stuff. The first thing i would do, is pee on a stick. If it's positive, then it might be worth giving her OB a call. If it's negative and she isn't filling more than 1 or 2 pads per hour, I personally would probably wait it out and see what happens.

shes all freaked out over it and to be totally honest i dont even think she was pregnant. shes not filling that many pads and i brought up her taking a test and she totally ignored me and kept going on about geting a D&C. -.-

I don't mean this in a mean way, but if her hormones are going crazy from perimenopause, maybe it could cause the paranoia, or denial that she is aging.

My MIL just turned 46 and is well through menopause. So it's not hard to believe she is going through it.
My mom is also freaking out thinking she's pregnant after having her tubes tied, buried and removed for over 18 years o_O?! I told her it was probably menopause and she looked at me like I killed her dog and said that's not possible she's to young?!
