game system, tablet, etc for a 4/yo- help?

I have a 4 year old daughter who would like a handheld game system of some sort.

If you know your stuff, what would you recommend?

Tablet, game system, whatever.... what has the most fun factor, growth potential (no iPad, not interested in that kind of money for a preschooler), etc.

My dd got a dsi3d for Xmas last yr and likes it. This yr she's getting an innotab2s

My son is 4 and we got him the Nintendo 3D XL. He played it a bit in a Target and loved it.

My 4 year old has a Tablet and loves the hell out of it, it's like playing with mom and dad's phone but she doesn't get in trouble for using it   She doesn't play with any of her other stuff ,and at least a tablet is something she'll always have a use for.

My LO is turning 5 Nov. 28 and his grandmother got him a ps vita.

I got Tanner a Kindle Fire last Christmas. He had just turned 3. So now he is 4 (basically) and I do not forsee him outgrowing it anytime soon. He still plays with it constantly and loves it. I must say it's held up extreemely well. I bought the accidental protection on it because I assumed he would destroy it.

The Kindle worked out well for us =)

I just got Amelie a LeapPad 2 for her bday and she loves it. It's more kid/education friendly. They do have tablets made just for kids at toys r us.
