covering up? (breast feeding)
posted 18th Nov
I have been ebf for 12 weeks today. I LOVE IT <3

When i'm in public I feel like I have to cover up or people will say rude things to me or look at me weird now I know I shouldn't care because as long as he is fed nothing matters. How do I get over this feeling ? I hate covering up it makes the baby and I both hot..

I'd cover up if there were like children around, always.
I've breastfed walking down a street, at restaurants, walmart.....etc.
I don't ALWAYS cover up, but I try to
They make lightweight coverups

Do what makes you and your baby comfortable. It's perfectly legal to breastfeed in public so smurf what other people think And congrats on reaching 12 weeks!

don't make it your problem because it is THEIR's... if people have an issue with how you choose to feed your child let them, you are doing what is best and right for your baby, it works for you, be happy you are able to do it and have that bonding, nurturing time. As long as you aren't letting it all hang out I don't know what the issue is.

Congrats on hitting 12 weeks!
I don't plan to cover up because this baby will be born at the beginning of summer and I'll be damned if people's comments and stupidity make me overheat my baby by putting a blanket over them. Be proud of what your doing - it's beautiful, not shameful.

I always wear a tank top underneath my shirt. When my son get's hungry, the shirt comes up and the tank top comes down. Nobody can even tell I'm breastfeeding.

i have a large thin blanket that i use on the back side of LO. it never goes over his face though. its manly there for my security and i have a huge let down and sometimes LO unlatches, so its there to keep us both dry just incase.

Try wearing a nursing tank or any low cut tank under the shirt you're wearing. Pull the top shirt up and the tank down. Doing it that way hardly any skin at all shows. I'm still uncomfortable not covering in public so I use a very thin receiving blanket but I never fully cover his head I just hold it by his head to cover any skin there may be.

I just had my 3rd baby 3 months ago and I've breastfed all of them! Do what makes you and your child comfortable!!!! It's a beautiful and natural thing! Let them stare! They are probably jealous!!! I nursed my first baby in a pizza hut one time and the waitress came to our table and caught onto what I was doing and told the manager and the manager came out back to us and said can you nurse your baby somewhere else! My employee is very uncomfortable serving your table! We packed up and left and filed a complaint! I didnt have anything showing and wasnt about to cover my daughter who was already hot since it was summer time!!! Def would recomment the nursing tank tops and wearing them under tight or loose shirts! They are awesome! good luck to you!!!!
