re: covering up? (breast feeding)

I don't cover up.. me and my son both hate it. It interferes with bonding. I can't see him.. and he can't see me. I'm afraid he's gonna suffocate under the cover up.. and I wouldn't want to eat with something covering me. :/ Would you??

Most mothers who breastfeed in public are good at nursing and be somewhat discreet (sp). im all for public breastfeeding. however a few years ago i saw a woman breastfeeding her child. i had no issues with it,however her child kept trying to reach for the other nipple. so the mother pulled the other one out and let the child hold onto that nipple. i think thats where the whole disrespect comes in. There was no purpose to have the other breast out. The mothers who try to "show off" "to proove a point" are being disrespectful ect. your main goal is to feed a baby, if your doing anything other than just that than i have an issue.

Actually I play with my husbands nipples all the time.. haha.. They're no different from a womans. The only thing is that they're dormant. Breasts are not intended to be sexual. It's culture, society, and the media that's made them that way. I don't even allow my husband to touch my breasts.. not unless he's helping latch our son which he does on the rare occasion.. Other than that he'll get slapped cause they're just too sensitive. Why should breasts be vulgar?? It depends on your mindset is all...

C)Yes, you have basically equated showing any sort of breast in public even for breastfeeding as sexual or that people will view it sexually.

I cover when im around anyone other than SO, but that is because im going through body image issues right now...if i wasnt i probably wouldnt cover and i commend women who chose to bf whether covered or not...and both my nephews have seen me nurse and both of them understand that that is how my baby eats because my sister nursed her youngest and explained what she was doing to her oldest. Whe my son cries my 2 year old nephew gives me my cover so i can feed him

Then you accept that being gay is ok. You can't say gay is wrong unless its my own child it doesn't work that way. How would you feel about their partner? How would you handle their lifestyle. If you can accept a gay child you can accept the gay community as a whole. Not saying you need to march in a pride parade but you have to at least be accepting. Otherwise you're just a hypocrite.
