re: covering up? (breast feeding)

Seriously. Im sorry my kid screams her head off any time I ever tried to cover. Way more attention drawn then needed. Oh and for the record I breastfed for 9 months because I just couldn't continue any longer. I wish I could have had the option to go until she was 100% ready to wean. You call all of us bitches yet you aren't showing yourself to be any better? Educate yourself on extended breastfeeding before you insinuate that going until 2 has something wrong with it. Look at whats considered normal in other countries. You will quickly learn the US seems to be the only ones in the world with women nursing in public issues. Covered or not its a personal choice.

It's people like you that have turned breasts and nipples into sexual things. I do not sit there and have my nipples hanging out for all the world to see. I breastfed only today in front of a 3 year old boy and he could not have cared less about what I was doing. He did not stare, he did not ask what was going on, he just carried on playing how he was playing before. If you don't want your nephew to see breastfeeding, how do you expect him to be supportive of it at all when the time comes for him to have kids of his own?

For the record, my husband thinks nipples are ugly, on men and women.

And gay guys might find other men's nipples attractive, do you have a problem with gays getting their nipples out?

My hubby was never around breastfeeding a day in his life. And when I was pregnant I read to him all the good it does and he is very happy I breastfeed . I don't believe it's ok or normal to be gay.

You don't believe it's okay to be gay? Is it okay to be straight? I see no difference.
You sound extremely uneducated and ignorant.
First of all, how old is your nephew? I doubt he even notices when women are breastfeeding. If he does, and it bothers him, it is because of women like you who taint his image of a woman's body. If he grows up knowing that breasts are meant to be used to feed babies and not as sexual objects, he won't think otherwise.
Second of all, I was never rude to you, and I don't think any other women were either, until you started throwing insults around. And by doing that, you are deeming yourself no better.
And lastly, yes, I hope to breastfeed my son until he's two. If you were educated, you would know that it is recommended by the AAP to breastfeed until at least the age of 2. I'm not going to deny my son the best nutrition that is available to him because it makes you uncomfortable.

You are one smurfed up individual. I feel so bad for your kids to be raised around such closed minded ignorance.

You're the one who is a close minded homophobe who thinks breastfeeding = sexuality. Again - I seriously feel bad for your daughter.

I hope that her daughter never becomes a lesbian, and has to feel this kind of discrimination from her own mother.

Freakin seriously. When I came out to my mom, she acted like she had raised some kind of hero, it was totally weird, but at least she is super supportive and doesn't make it any kind of issue.

The only time I cover up is around my family. Idk it makes me feel uncomfortable. Other than that I don't care.
