re: covering up? (breast feeding)

I covered up because I didn't want everyone staring at my tah-tahs. But I don't mind seeing women who don't cover. Baby needs to eat lol. My covers were always really lightweight so it wouldn't be too hot.

Grow up. My baby hates being covered when she eats and will throw her head back. She likes looking around while she's eating. So, if you have a problem with another woman feeding their child, maybe you just shouldn't look! Or put a blanket over your head.

I'm not going to go hide in a bathroom stall or my car to feed my kid. And I will never apologize for that either. I used a cover at first because of people like you, but when my daughter was practically ripping my nipple off by throwing her head back, I said screw this and quit covering her.

It took a month and half for my daughter to latch ( I pumped prior) she is 4 months now, I was wearing nursing shields but it was hot down here in Florida. Also they were annoying and my daughter hated them. Guess what when I go out ( I am back at work now pumping sigh) at night or the weekends I gained this sense of F it all I have gotten more postive comments from people and people who came up to me and stopped me to congratulate and praise me for openly breastfeeding then I have negative looks...and people haven't dared to comment negativly to me. Its a boob. Its primary function is to feed our babies. I keep my nipple covered if it isn't in my daughters mouth its covered but the large amount of skin you see is just that skin. I have heard kids ask parents and most parents respond with "she is feeding her baby" the kid may ask did you use to feed me mommy and some say yes or explain why not. It isn't a big deal unless they make it one and if you are comfortable and not ashamed people will be comfortable to..if they aren't that is their problem. I'm not going to be uncomfortable doing something natural and healthy for my child.

Like I said before I highly doubt she won't let u cover her long enough to latch her. Your just ridiculous and it sounds to me that u just like to bitch! Ur being crazy because I simply said its rude to show ur nipple to everyone and all the kids u kno its rude . Feeding your baby is one thing but I'm sure u can cover your baby long enough to latch her.

Are you smurfing kidding me? My daughter wouldnt latch with a cover on come hell or high water. She would kick and scream and make a scene. Its not like I stand up before I feed her announcing that there might be a few minutes my nipple is visible if you look really close. You seem to have some image in your head where women are just sitting there with their nipples hanging out. As for the bathroom thing so my baby doest care? Um the automatic toilets scare her and make her cry. They usually smell horrible so why should I have to subject myself to that. Plus why do I have miss my family dinner or time with my group to go sit in the bathroom for what 20 min to an hour depending on how long my child decided she wants to eat for. Hell no. In the 9 months I breastfed in public without a cover I cannot count 1 rude stare or rude comment form anyone other than my own grandmother. I did however get many compliments for being brave and empowering.

Same! I've gotten so many compliments for doing what's best for my baby. And for not being scared to do so in public.

It takes me a matter of 30 seconds to latch her. So, if you don't wanna see my nipple, look away for 30 seconds and shut the hell up.

I didn't breast feed my DD. I just cannot grasp the concept of covering up. I don't eat with a blanket over my head...

You're joking, right? I might be able to get my son to latch for a second with a cover on, but then he pulls the cover off and pulls his head back- showing my nipple to everyone. This would go on multiple times until I take away the cover off completely. So instead of showing my nipple to everyone and their mother multiple times for at least 10-20 seconds each time, why not just show it once for 2 seconds (if that)?
I've had people come up to me and talk about how cute my son is, not even realizing I'm nursing. I've been nursing my son for 7 months in public, and have never once had anyone say anything to me.

I don't cover, I hate it and DS hates it, it stops him from feeding properly. I've had a few complaints about it and I just offer them a cloth to put over their heads if they're offended. Or tell them that I am more than happy for them to go and eat their dinner in the toilets as me and my son are quite comfortable where we are

I cover up with an Udder Cover. I have huge boobs and just feel more comfortable if I'm covered...our chunky man is EBF and 2 months old today.

Privates?? We're not getting our vag's out, jees. And it's not like we sit there with our nipples out yelling 'hey, everyone, come have a sneaky peek at me!' They're out for like 30seconds, max, if at all, and if you don't make a fuss, it's very rare that people even notice.

My mom tought me to respect myself! Yes God gave us boobs to feed our baby but it's a fact men are attracted to them I'm not concerned about me seeing your nipple as I am my nephew HE don't need to see it. And u and I know guys nipples are not attractive to anyone!!!!! Duhh
