Tubal Ligation

posted 18th Nov
Anyone have a tubal ligation recently or know of anyone who has? Reason i'm asking I hear it's pretty painful compared to a man getting a vasectomy, trying to decide and convince my hubby to get snipped instead of me, but i'll do it if he won't. Just wondering how bad the procedure really is? Thanks

Look into Essure, it's painless.

A vasectomy has a higher percentage of working than a tubal.

I got mine done a little over a year ago. I also had a c section so I didn't really feel the pain from it. But it didn't hurt to me. My sister in law whos never had a surgery in her life said it was painful but not too bad. The only problem I am having is my periods. They are either really heavy or late

I just had mine done like a week and a half ago. For me it went really well. I was discharged less than an hour after surgery and only took 2 pain pills after what they gave me in recovery...my husband will also be getting a Vasectomy though since neither is 100% and for health reasons CANNOT get pregnant again...

Hopefully it goes well for me as well...my husband is one of those men that think if you get a vasectomy your loosing your "manhood" so i'm trying to tell him just to do it...I gave birth to his 2 children and went through that pain, he can do this for me lol

Did you have a problem with your cycle before he tubal? I am getting one after this baby and it's going to be a csection also.

My husband was that way too and thats why we ended up with our 3rd lol. But now I was diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy and he is afraid of losing me if i were to get pregnant again so he's fine doing it now. I just had mine done first since its immediate and his would take like 3 months to be clear...

That's good that he is willing to do that, i'd be worried if he didn't lol I just looked at the Essure procedure as an alternative and it reminds me of the Mirena, I see alot of bad reviews that they have constant cramping and pain and how they wish they got their tubes tied

I personally wouldnt have been comfortable with the essure. I did read a lot of things with women saying their periods got heavier and more cramps after having the tubal done, but I started my period like 3 days after mine got done and it was heavy but mine always are so it didn't seem any different to me than usual. I guess everyone just has different experiences, but so far I am happy with my decision. I hope whatever you decide goes good for you or your husband if that's the case lol.

My periods didn't change much if at all. I was in pain tho whenever I ovulated for about 7 months, but now its great.

I'm sure the Essure is just like any other birth control or any other procedure, it's great for some and not so great for others. I don't feel comfortable with putting those coils in my tubes though lol that's just me.
