I think my baby is scared....

posted 18th Nov
I made a similar post about this before but im just so stumped My son turned one last week. Up until the night before his birthday, I'd rock him while he had his bottle, then lay him in his crib and he'd go to sleep. Now when I lay him down and go to leave, he loses his mind. He'll scream and scream until I come back in his room and stand beside his crib. He'll lay down and go to sleep. If I try to leave before he's fully asleep, the process continues. I don't pick him up or anything. It seems like he just needs to see me.

Nothing would have scared him that I can think of but it's the only thing I can think of.

Any suggestions on how to get back to before? I've sat in the chair in his room and not directly at his crib. Sometimes that's okay with him, sometimes not.

I'm so confused!

Totally normal. It's a phase. Keep your routine, if you pick him up he'll expect it from here on. No bueno lol

I'd say it's just a phase. Like separation anxiety maybe? He's so used to you rocking him before bed.

I'm hoping he just won't cry when I walk out one of these days and we'll be back to normal.. But he'll literally scream forever if I don't go in. but you're right, I won't pick him up.

I still do! Its just when I lay him down to walk out, he loses his mind whereas he used to be fine.

I was thinking of separation anxiety too, trying to think if I left him more than usual but I don't think so.

I have something similar. I use it for the white noise, but maybe I'll try the pictures again. Thanks!
