re: What's your definition of a 'slut' or a 'whore'?

I have a sex addiction.
I'm a super mega ultra slut.

Quoting Rumpelstiltskin:" So, what is considered "sleeping around". Anyone who has sex out side of a relationship? How many partners makes a woman slut?"
I would think sleeping around would be sleeping with an excessive amount of people in short periods of time.
Idk. I really don't care what anyone does so I wouldn't really know.

I think a girl/guy who cheats on SO, spreads disease is a slut. And home wreckers. I have absolutely no patience for people who knowingly smurf with married people, or those married people who smurf around

I loathe the word slut.
What a woman does with HER body & life, is nobodies business.
Anything consensual between 2 people is not for other people to define.

hahaha this!
but I would consider her a slut if she was sleeping with or actively hitting on a married guy

I know what other people's definition means to them but I've always had a hard time with both words. It's such a double standard that both words are mainly directed at woman. I feel that if a person is single and not hurting anyone else then all the power to them. I've had friends throughout my life that were much more "wild" then myself, they were Promiscuous but as long as they weren't fooling aroung with someone else's man I didn't judge them for their sexual appetite but for how good a person and friend they were to me. I think both words are so harmful especially to school age girls, the label can and does ruin lives.

Slut has 2 meanings. A slovenly or promiscuous woman.
Promiscuous, being they have a lot of frequent casual sex partners.
Slovenly, being like dirty or messy, careless or sloppy in appearance. This is what my mum always said a slut was. So I think it's quite funny when people define a slut as someone who dresses provocatively. Normally those girls who walk around half naked take pride in their appearance.
A whore is a prostitute. Has sex for money.
You just can't argue with the dictionary.

There's a word singling out promiscuous "slutty" males, a "Casanova." A "gigolo" is the term given to a male prositiute, so that is the male version of "whore."
So there's not actually a double standard because there are words aimed at men specifically, the same as these words are specifically aimed at women.
It's just that men aren't into the childish name calling, so much as women, so the words are not as commonly used and don't seem so harsh.
That's JMO.

I have zero respect for anyone who uses the words slut or whore to describe a woman. It is NOT okay to judge a woman on how many people she sleeps with, how she dresses, or anything pertaining to her sex life. All of you who think it's okay to use those words seriously need to be slapped in the face.
quoteposted 21st Nov
I do agree with those who prefer to not use the words to describe women. I seldom call anyone a slut or a whore, myself. Only rarely, when I was pissed. But generally, not ever :/
I've been thinking about this for a while.
A little while ago, my friend was talking about someone she knew who had five or so children at the age of twenty-three. And someone immediately labeled her as a "slut who slept around, making babies" etc. and I just think that 'slut' is too unfair of a word to describe this girl with. I mean, what makes her a slut? That she has five kids? For all we'd know, all of those kids have the same dad and she's married to the dude.
But even if she wasn't, I'd still think it would be harsh to call her such.

Im all for women being able to have sex with who ever they want. I dont care about numbers. A slut (this goes for a man and a woman) is someone who has sex without protection and spreads all nastiness all over. I think people really need to be careful these days, people lie about getting testing and such

I use those words to joke around with friends. I think they are over rated just like home wrecker. I think no woman is a wore or slut
