Thanksgiving Dinner, help.

Ok so this will be my first year making a real thanksgiving dinner with my Husband and Daughter. We'll be having turkey, baked macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole, and some pies. How do you work all this out with only one oven? I'm guessing we'll be baking the casseroles early and throw them back in the oven to reheat before serving, but i really have no idea! We have one oven so this is gonna be interesting! : ) Tips would be appreciated.

try a greenbean casserole in crockpot

I didn't even think of that!! great idea : ) I was hoping to use it sometime thanksgiving cuz it would free up some oven time.

Turkeys and hams always take the longest. We cook the casseroles early if not the night before and then the meats are usually just becoming ready when everyone comes over. We cook stuff in the oven at the same time as the meats, just put them next to the turkey/ham pans.

So you just throw the casseroles in the fridge and reheat before dinner?

I think I put the turkey on the top, and while it cooked I used the bottom rack- I just had to set it up right.

Ugh, this post has me all confused on how I want to make everything this year and how timing is going to work, lol. I better get some good coffee that morning because I'll be up before the sun.

Oh me too, luckily my husband got the day off of work so he'll be focused on the bird, i just have to do everything else!! sigh... holidays are stressful!

Yea it is. I know I did the green bean casserole after the turkey was done. I figured the putting foil over the turkey would keep the heat in even after I took it out and it did, and I had all the room in the world for the casserole/rolls/corn bread.
