My bf's mom keeps doing that to my and my bf too. I quit smoking and started up a few weeks ago just for when I am stressed and now I dont hear the end of it.

OP, I started smoking again after DS was born. I go out to smoke then come back in and wash my hands/arms, brush my teeth, and strip off my outer layer of clothes. I never smell like smoke, and it's never around DS. DH is the same way. It's none of your inlaws' business.

I really don't mean to sound rude but I am genuinely curious.

With how much I am sure you know about how bad smoking is for you, why did you start? I usually only see smokers that started In Highscjool because it was "cool"

I wear a jacket to cover up my clothes. I also wash my hands and teeth too.

the smoke lingers on your clothes, hair, nails and skin... so that can affect your baby.

I don't think you deserve to be bitched at, though. I'm just letting you know that third hand smoke can be dangerous too!

It's on your skin and in your hair... you'd have to shower after each smoke, basically.

You would have to take a full on shower to avoid that and I highly doubt a smoker showers after each light up. Washing your hands and changing your clothes isn't going to full on avoid it.

When I was 18 I smoked and.when I got pregnant I stopped. I got really stressed out and just started again..

It's still in your hair nails and those clothes "that cover you up" no matter how hard you try you are never 100% clean of the smoke.
