Early potty training

Has anyone started potty training at 15 months? DS has been shoing sign he is ready such as bringing a diaper to me right before going, trying to rip his diaper off after peeing in it, telling me when he has just gone, so we started having him sit on the potty. He has gone so much, I am surprised! Everyone tells me this is too young, especially for a boy, but he seems to be ready! Anyone have a child that was younger than the norm?

Hey, if he's ready, he's ready. I had a little girl in my daycare who was fully potty trained at 18 months old.

I would go with it, but if he reverts, I wouldn't get upset about it, that could very well happen at his age.

All of mine have started potty training around that age and been fully trained by 18-19 months and through the night by two years.

My style is to let them run naked no diapers once they show me they're ready. Then they become really aware of what's going on and it's quick and easy to get to the potty (which I tote everywhere!)

Its never too early to potty train in my opinion. The sooner the better. I hope my LO starts that early. Diapers are not cheap LOL

My daughter has been diaper free since 11 months while at home.I guess you could consider us as practicing elimination communication. She is learning so much from it, she is so smart!!! 15 months is not too young and is actually the norm...until disposables came around and the companies tried convincing everyone it was mean to help lo's to the bathroom.

11 months? How did that work out? Just curious because DD is 11 months lol and I can't picture her diaper free.....recently I was removing her diaper to give her a bath and she just started peeing all over   of course it was right after the diaper was off   lol

I would just hold her over the toilet every once in a while since birth ..probably once every two to three weeks...and say pssss and she would pee. Then her poops became a routine thing in the morning and I put on her beco potty (it's the right size for young kids from like 9 months + I think) and now I've extended it to her going after naps whenever I'm going. If she gets up and leaves the toilet I don't fight her. Usually she'll have toys near by to keep her occupied. There are a lot of accidents but she has only been diaper free for two months and she already understands when she is peeing and now says 'pssss' when she has to pee. The other day she slept through the night diaper free and went all day diaper free without one accident and she came to tell me she had to pee. So I can tell we are getting there. It's awesome that I've only had to change 2 poopy diapers since she was 9 months.
She also gets diaper rash crazzzzzy easy so I don't have to worry about that as much anymore.
