I switched to my first name first online and then when I moved. I couldn't have switched if I still lived where everyone knew me!!

Well I had just moved from San Jose to a different town where I started a new school. I didn't become friends with my best friend until a month into the school year but by then it was too late for me since people had started to know me as sandra. My friend told everyone her middle name off the bat. I didn't even know her first name until we became good friends. Her first name is Greivin ..so yeah she went by her middle. I'm happy that no one took to calling me by my middle name it just makes things confusing

Yeah, I always prefer the name Audrey to Sarah (my names), my parents still call me Sarah and it confuses people at first, but they get over it and know who I am.

Lol yeah her first name was bad. Idk what they were thinking lol. Her middle name is marisela so it's a huge improvement. I didn't realize how confusing going by my middle name until I dated my ex in high school. That's when I was glad it didn't stick but in a way I still have that problem because ,y name is sandra but my family calls me sandy lol it's funny when people don't know what to call me

I call my son by both. His second middle name fits him better than his first name and if I had it my way I would of just used it as his first name but DH didn't want to.

Yes I think it is a bad choice. IMO you should put the name you like best and intend to use as a first name.

I'll tell you why. I have two names - my legal name and the name everyone has called me since birth. It is a major problem. Half of my ID has my legal name and half has my called name. Also, they don't start with the same first letter so I don't even have a consistent initial. It has caused me many many headaches. Keep it simple people! If you don't want to call your child by a particular name then don't use it as a first name. I really wish people had just called me by my (very long) legal name all along - it would have made my life so much simpler!!!
