I need to "grow up" because I said I don't like going to the ER? Okay.

OP, you should go already. You've already wasted almost 30 minutes trying to justify why you should.

Honestly, I would just go if you can. That way you can get him his needed medications via IV and get him fluids if needed.

this, btw, is why i hate this place anymore. instead of getting helpful information, you get a bunch of catty highschoolers.

yes i know the ER is for emergencies. HOWEVER. its sunday, and theres no urgent cares around here.

it is very easy to get over excited about things when it has to deal with your kid, especially when that kid has health problems to begin with, so i was not sure i was making it more of a big deal than it should be. i should have just went with my gut instinct and told him to take him, instead of thinking id get actual help on here.

Then you know if you need to take him or not. Just use your judgement.

You asked others opinions and that's what you got. Just pbecause you didn't like the responses you are upset.

How was I a catty high schooler?

**eta*** You asked for somebodies opinion who has no direct vested interest in your child. You're the mom, you know the best route to care for your child. So if you don't agree with the catty high schoolers you simply don't take their advice and move on.

I would take him to the ER. With everything you said in this thread it seems like the best option at this point. As much as I don't like ERs they will at least be able to make sure all his electrolytes are within normal range.

I hope he feels better soon.

Quoting Meg ♥:" How is he doing? "

we got discharged this morning. hes still really fussy and cant keep anything down other than pedialyte even with zofran, but at least he can keep the pedialyte down. we have to go to the doctors in the AM. im hoping he feels better tomorrow.

they did end up having to give him a IV and some Ca and K+ as his labs were a lil funky. he looked cyanotic when he was brought in apparently but his o2 sat never went under 94. they did a 12 lead before discharge and it was normal so thats good.

I would take him to the ER, better safe than sorry. My son was throwing up every bottle and had the runs. After about 12 hours of this I called my pedi and asked what to do, she said to take him straight to the emergency room. He was so dehydrated they ended up admitting him and running a whole bunch of tests. We took him to a children's hospital and they said that dehydration can happen really easily in babies and to never wait that it would lead to severe complications. But listen to your gut - if you are worried than follow your "mom instincts". They are usually accurate - Good Luck!
