I Advocated for myself and Got my Water Birth!!!

posted 18th Nov
In April of this year I had surgery to remove tumors from my uterus the Dr who I was going through said at my consultation it would be a simple DNC to scrape all the tumors from my uterus he said there seem to be no more then 2 or 3 tumors. Before surgery the 27th of April I signed the consent for Fibroid Removal/DNC ... and off to surgery I went ... My follow up was for May 7th ... I went we went over a hundred questions of had you experienced any of this this an this .... I was examined and he said everything seemed great and to follow up with my regular Midwife as usual from there! Okay to back up for a min when I went to the consult my husband and I explained we were thinking of more children in the future what were our options as to birth after this surgery etc .. due to the fact I have had 2 vaginal births previously... he said the DNC shouldnt cause any reason why my 3rd child cant be vaginal etc ... at my week follow up I again asked about this as it had come up that I had 12 tumors in my uterus not 2 or 3 .... and he said everything would be fine!

Okay so any who I ended up pregnant right after surgery to my surprise after 2 fertility babies it was quite shocking!!! At around my 10 to 12 week apt with my midwife birth options came up and I was talking about a transfer to a water birth facility etc ... she immediately said o no no no you cant you had a Myomectomy ... I was like excuse me? Well after months of researching myomectomies the pros and cons of c section to vaginal etc etc .... I took it upon myself to see another midwife an hour and a half away from me!! An TADA to my surprise ... the Dr. who did my surgery did NOT perform a myomectomy yes he wrote it in the operative report he did but supposedly one tumor of the 12 was slightly into the muscle and he had to shave it .. giving him quote the right to bill for a myomectomy and get a higher pay grade! (That dr is an ASS even on day one after 18 months of bleeding reason I had the surgery he said an whats the big deal as if bleeding daily for over a year was just normal!!) ...

ANY WAYS ... GUESS WHAT??
Now that I know the truth I had a simple DNC which does not cause horrible trauma to your uterus and I have many factors and reasons that are worse as to why NOT have a C section ... I am scheduled to have My HydroBirth in March NATURALLY as God intended it!! I have to go to a Hospital over an hour away for the rest of my apts and my delivery ... but I will not be Induced Not be Cut open and not be threatened with C section ONLY policy because some ass hole said I had a myomectomy to get paid higher!! Glad Im a Medical Major and had the courage to stand up for myself and my baby and not just take the Csection because my Dr said so!!!!

NEVER let a Dr control your choices, if you dont think thats the best answer advocate for yourself ... seek a second opinion! The Dr wanting me to have a Csection could have harmed my baby for a higher pay thats pathetic and horrible to think of!

Thank You! Lots of ladies on here when I posted an older forum about I Hated Dr Barrere said they didnt see the big deal etc ... But I knew that it was just to odd to never mentioned myomectomy to my face then all sudden Oh now that your pregnant you need a C section ... Really sadens me though I love my Midwife Michelle to death she delivered my son but the policy there is if Myomectomy is in your chart even if it is BS I am required to have a Csection so I will miss her but hope I love my new Midwife just the same!
