Dilation

posted 18th Nov
At my appointment on Friday I went to get tested for GBS, and had my OB check for dilation/effacement... She told me I was thinning, but still closed. After TERRIBLE contractions at 7 last night I went to the hospital where she checked again, and she said I had a lot of mucus. I got home at 3am, and woke up about an hour ago and noticed I lost my mucus plug. She also said that I was 3cm and 75% effaced. I'm 36+4 today and getting excited, just thought I'd share! Does the passing of the plug mean I've dilated more?

no but it does mean the mucus membrane is thinning. If i were you I would relax and put your feet up. Dont encourage it.

No I passed my mucous plug a month before I had her. I was dilated to about 2 and 100% effaced for the longest time..

Okay TY that's good to know. And I'm not encouraging him coming right this second I know he'll come when he's ready. I'm just glad things are progressing on track as they should.
