How Can I Get DS....

to sleep in his toddler bed?!?!?!?! we put it up last night and he HATED it. He screamed and cried and would not lay down so we both ended up sleeping in the living room together. HELP

when i put my daughters bed up i left the crib up in her room too and i let her choose lots of nights she chose her bed but ended up wanting to go back in her crib so we let her...eventually once she picked her bed and stayed in it then she kinda just got better and better and after about a month we took the crib right out and she didnt have a choice. She did awesome, no problems at all!

he is 3, do you think it would be ok to continue to let him sleep in the crib?

mine was like 2 1/2, but very small for her age, and she wasnt crawling out of her crib yet or trying. It was her safe place she loves going to sleep in cribs or a playpen. She still sleeps in a playpen when we go places and she will be 4 in april LOL.
I think 3 is fine to still be in a crib specially if your doing it to try and transision him to a bed. Just as long as it isnt posing a threat to him sleeping in a crib, Which im sure its not...even kids who try calling out of their cribs usually can do it pretty good. they are like little monkeys!

he has never wanted to climb out of his crib lol he loves it

We started out with just doing naps in the toddler bed at first, to get him kind of used to it - it seemed to work ok, it took a couple weeks to get him to transition fully, but it eventually happened.

That big kid bed is scary, mama!

That was sam.e with my daughter. Then i wouldnt worry about it. If you can fit his crib in the room with it id try it. May not work for him cause he might choose the crib all the time. But it worked for me giving them that option, he might try it one night and last an hour...maybe longer the next...maybe not...Cant hurt to try

I have a convertible crib. When she was about 18 months old I just took the side rail off.

awww, did you ask him if he wanted to try the big bed?

with my ds1, he was almost 2 when we needed the crib... we got the toddler bed, and put the crib on one side of it - it took a few days, maybe a week.. he got used to it so we took the crib out of his room completely then about 3wks later - put it up to use for the new baby. ds2 is 2 1/2yrs old.... still in it, we dont NEED it this time so we're in no hurry to switch him.

were getting ds1 a twin bed this weekend, idk how hes gonna do with that... if he does good (which i think he will) then well prob switch ds2 into a twin bed after the 1st of the yr, too.

I always go lay down w/ DS in his toddler bed until he falls asleep. He falls asleep almost instantly and sleeps all night.

We did that too. Two yrs later, he still needs/wants us to lay down with him. Huge huge bad habit!! Or else he comes in our bed mid-way through the night

meh. It doesn't bother me. I usually lay w/ him 10 minutes, max.
