posted 18th Nov
At say.. 8 months old.. Do you cut them up or just give them the whole thing?

DD is 7 months and I give her 1/3 of the banana at once. I don't it up unless I'm mixing it with something.

i mashed them, and it was about 7 months. most stuff i made for her was just smashed up until she was abut a year.

Oh well we mostly just give her real food so we don't mash anything. Lol.

well, if i wasn't going to mash them, i'd probably cut them into little cubes. but it's up to you. my daughter just didn't seem "ready" for it until she was the ages i said.

Both. I give him the whole thing sometimes and he scrapes and mashes it himself. with his teeth. Sometimes I will cut it up and give it to him that way!

I mash them up...I would be too afraid she would choke if I gave her a whole banana...I gave her a tiny cube the other day and she gagged on that. She is almost 8 months too.

I either used a Baby Safe Feeder or I would freeze the banana and give it to them that way. The frozen texture was great for teething and they could only get small bits off at a time as it thawed. Makes a great healthy "popsicle".
