Thanksgiving Trip. Go or stay home?

My parents bought me and my son a plane ticket to go see them for Thanksgiving back in early September. I've brought it up numerous times to my boyfriend and yesterday he says he doesn't think he will have enough for a plane ticket. It's frustrating because it wasn't a last minute thing at all. If my ticket gets canceled it will be $150 cancellation fee (with my dads frequent flyer miles it was only $10 to buy the ticket). Either way I will be letting someone down and I feel guilty. Would you go or stay at home? My mom is here so he will have a place if he wants to go and people from base. Uggggggh help

I'd go. I definitely would not cancel if my family bought me a plane ticket to go see them. That's very rude. Your SO will survive without you.

We are in Kansas flying to Baltimore and the tickets are $600-$arm and leg. I see what you're saying though just sucks

your parents got you a ticket.. why would you cancel because your SO didn't plan ahead? unless there was legit reason... stuff that came up etc where he couldn't afford it..

I'd go. Especially seeing as they live so far from you. I'd definitely be going to see my family and I'd be pretty pissed off at SO for not saving money when he knew well in advance that these plans had been made and to start saving up for a special trip. He's smurf outta luck!

I've decided to go like you all said. There's a lot of family I haven't seen in a while and my uncle is leaving for Korea so this will be the last time I see him for a few years (God willing). I just know its going to be a fight with SO -_- not looking forward to that.

wow wtf.. he had MONTHS of warning and knew that he should be saving a little bit from each paycheck to go with you. Don't let his being an idiot ruin your thanks giving. Go have fun and visit your folks
