re: What do you think of "trendy" names?

I have a niece named Kyleigh, some of the names mentioned aren't what I would choose but it's her child. I have to say though, if kids want to be mean the name won't make much of a difference.

The boy names aren't bad, but the girl names are ugh.

They are entirely someone else's brain child.

Kids can and will be bullied for any damn little thing.

My name is Selena, not a common name when I grew up. Did I get bullied for that? No. I got bullied for everything else under the sun, including being the second smallest kid in my class.

If you don't like the names, then you don't use them.

No smurf, but everyone has the right to say how terrible the names are.
Selena is a legit name, Paisleigh is not.

Sometimes people are just trying TOO hard to be unique. The name Paisley is fine! It's just a horrible way to spell it. Better than Apple...no adjustment in spelling can improve that name...Maybe she will meet a boy named Orange...and they can call their kids Plum and Nectarine....

I hate that dumb ass statement. I always tell people that if they don't want people to say negative things about the names they like then they should keep them to themselves. I'll be damned if I keep my mouth shut when someone tells me they want to name their kid Jaeleigh'Analynn.
Also hate "you can name our kid whatever you want, it's YOUR kid" Well no smurfing smurf, but it's not just about what YOU like. These people have got to realize that they are naming children that will be adults that need to function in society, not smurfing puppies.

I love Eli Nicolas. My sons name is Eli Blake   Eli is also a biblical name.

We named our other son Jayden Zander.

SO many bad names out there. I can understand wanting to be different, I really do. But it CAN be taken too far.
