Has anyone been following the stories about the states filing petitons to secede from the U.S?
I have found two of the petitions online interesting and have signed them; get the word out.... Petitions.WhiteHouse.gov

Hate to tell you, but this country is already divided. This just goes to show you how much. I don't feel strongly either way about this... but I wouldn't ever sign it. I feel like it could come back around and bite you in the ass in a major way... like you're putting yourself on a "list" or something.

online petitions don't hold much water.

Why would you care if Texas wants to secede?

I have signed something similair about the Travon Martin case and nothing happened; just sends me emails sometimes about different cases looking for signatures as well and if I dont agree with them I delete the mail but it doesnt cause me any viruses/ its not annoying junk mail. Its okay if you dont sign I just figured I'd try and get the word out to others in some sort of way since I dont use Twitter or Facebook.

What's the problem if Texas wants to leave?

I feel as if these states are just mad because Obama got reelected; I think they should wait to make a major decision like this.

They would be worse on their own.

Texas has been trying to secede since way before Obama came into office.

It's not because of Obama. Texas has filed for secession either 87 or 88 times. They've been planning secession since they joined the union. You are just hearing about it now.

Oh, and the major party- Texas Nationalist Movement- has been around since 1994 and has 250,000 members.

They are currently being bullied by a huge federal government that's $16 trillion in debt and doesn't seem to have any interest in stopping their out of control spending.

I'd like to get away from our smurffy federal government too.

Oh yes. I remember hearing about it a lot when I was growing up. My entire family is from Texas.

Texas has tried seceding liek a bajillion times and each time it's done terribly.
