Wanting to use what I already have so I dont make more trips to the store this week. I am considering baking a cake tomorrow. I have no icing. I have yellow cake mix and banana pudding. Does putting banana pudding on top of a yellow cake sound bad?

you can make homemade icing then =D
that's how I always make icing...although I learned with my mom's "recipe" with no measurements, just eyeballing and such. Lemme see if I can find ya a link with some more details. we always add vanilla in our white icing and of course cocoa for chocolate

We usually do 1/2-1 stick of butter, splash of vanilla, a bag of powdered sugar, and like a tablespoon of milk at a time until the consistency is right. You can make it thinner for a glaze or leave it thick for layering cakes. We use it for everything--cookies, cakes, cinnamon rolls--we're not picky!
