Preparing For Labor.

posted 17th Nov
I am almost 36 weeks prenant & I am starting to get nervous about labor since it's coming so quickly. I want to have my son vaginally & plan to refuse an induction unless it's completely necessary. But just incase I have to have a c section or be induced I would like to hear your stories & c section recovery stories if you don't mind sharing. TIA!

I was induced due to medical complications with both of my pregancies. I started to have high blood pressure and it was mandatory. First delivery was 1 day early 15hrs thats including 12hrs of cervadil. Second delivery was 2 weeks early. 13hrs thats including 10hrs of cervadil. Neither one of my labors started till they broke my water. If my cervics was more thined I would have done that. Just to have them break my water. As for the c-section..I have spina bifida so I can't have an epideral..if I needed a c-section they would have to put me under. I don't want to be put under because then my husband can't be with me. But if for some reason the baby starts to measure 8 to 9lbs Ill have them do a c-section just because It will be safer for the baby. But the baby has till March to grow so only time will tell on number 3.

I wasnt dilated at all...but was effaced like 80%, and i was induced..since my cervix wasnt ready i had to have cervidil..i had three 12-hour doses of that before i was ready for pitocin...3 and a half DAYS later..lol ( I was sent home for a night to rest).. And pitocin is wicked, let me tell you. They wanted to induce me because i had so much fluid..they said baby was better off out/..so i dont regret it..but i hope not to be induced next time. I also had an epidural after 6 hours of hard labor....i was 100% against getting the epi. I thought there was no way in hell i'd let them near me with it..and lo and behold i was begging for it after they turned my pitocin up even more. I think i could have done it natually without being induced. And afterward i was glad i had the epidural cause i tore pretty good..and i'm glad i didnt feel it. Good luck! And i was nervous about labor too..honestly once you are going thru it..you dont have time to be nervous...so dont even stress.

I had a c-section with my triplets. The first couple of days were the worst and it still took a couple weeks after going home to completely recover and be pain free. Now 2 years later I barely have a scar.

27 hours of labor and then they let me have a c-section. I was on a magnesium sulfate drip for pre-e and wanted to die, and I wasn't progressing past a 4 which in itself took the whole day so..yeah. I had a MAJOR panic attack during the c-section because I couldn't feel myself breathe, but then they put something in my IV and I was awake but out of it. Recovery for the first few days sucked balls, just like showering or walking..and my son was in the NICU so I was walking a lot, haha. But otherwise I think it was a pretty fast recovery and overall not too bad. GL.

i was a week and some change over due before contractions started. i labored at home for 20 hours before going to the hospital. they preceded in inducing me because i wasnt progessing it was horrible. i was having 2 contractions every 5 seconds. there was no in between and they were ROUGH. 37 hours into labor i started pushing. i pushed for over an hour before he because so distressed i had to stop pushing and be rushed for an emergency csection. after 39 hours of labor i had my son 10lbs 12oz 23inch. he was so big he got stuck which is what led to my csection. after going home. i took my meds for the pain for about a week or 2 before i didnt need it anymore. i did tear my incision aswell and wasnt cleared at 6week check up because of not taking it as easy as i should of and carrying LO in his carrier too much. your not suppose to lift over 10lbs after a csection. it bleed for longer then it should have and hurt to have checked by the doctor but it wasnt really a huge problem.

I should start thinking about a "plan B", because I've been dead set on going naturally. Even though I know in the back of my mind, everything could change in a heartbeat.   I'm not ready!!! haha
