help with breast feeding.

posted 17th Nov
Im on my phone excuse the spelling if I mis-spell words.

Anyways started off breast feeding great, then she latched wrong a few feedings and I thought it was okay. Soo now she hurt me and I can't breast feed there way to sore with scabs on then. My boobs are so full and hard, ly actual milk came in today. I'm scared its going to go away. I tried to pump but it hurts way to much. What do I do ? I had to give her formula the hospital suggested because she was dehydrated. But i want to get her on breast milk again. Will my milk stay until I am no longer sore an can breast feed her again ?

If you want to breastfeeding, you have to power through.

The pain and bleeding should go away soon. Sorry, it sucks.

its toe curling and hurst so bad but after a few weeks it gets better. after feedings express some colustrum on the nips and let them air dry and then put some lanoiling on it, try to wear loose shirts so they dont stick. i know it sucks sooooo bad, trust me, i cried, but eventually you will have nipples of steel

Ahh okay. I was trying to pump but the suction was low an it wouldn't make the milk come out. I knew I had to turn it stronger but it hurt so bad. But if that's what I have to do I'm just going to. I already miss breast feeding this past day and a half. Thanks for the advice.

Either way you will be in pain...i hear when your milk dries up its wicked painful...so if you really wanna breast feed i would suck it up and deal with the a pain cause one way or another you are gunna hurt at least if you hurt for a little now while you nurse it should get better with time and just keep a close eye on the latch...pumping might suck for a while so try hand expressing of milk...basically use you hands like a pump...it will provide some relief....use a warm compress to help with let down that really helped me a lot in the begining!

I went through the same thing with my first. You have to just keep nursing your baby. I know it hurts, I would cry through every feeding the first two weeks. Try taking a warm bath or using hot compresses before/after you nurse. Stick with it...it is so worth it! You can do it momma!

Nipple shields and lanolin. You'll have to nurse through the pain if you want to breastfeed. I cried through every feeding for a month and my husband had to remind me why I wanted to do it but we are still breastfeeding 9 months later. To fix her latch run your nipple from nose to chin so she opens wider. You probably have what I affectionately called a sucker fish. My daughter used to latch on to my breast so quickly that it reminded me of a pleco latching on to the aquarium glass.
