c-section

I am excited to actually been given the ok to schedule a c-section on June 12 or 13! Of course, the scheduler was already gone for the day, so I have to wait until Monday to actually get the time and date, but I am really excited to know the end is in sight. I had to tell someone! I know the 13th is Friday the 13th, I am thinking that might help me get a good time on that day because some people don't want their baby born on that day. I am not superstitious. I am not scarring the baby for life am I?

Why are you scheduling a C-section?

my mom was born on a friday wich was also he 13th.

I am glad that she doesn't feel unlucky   The doc actually asked me if I minded having him on that day. I don't care what day it is if I get a healthy baby.

My doctor said my baby was about that size and I am 4'11. My little guy came out a whole 5lbs and 14oz.....

It usually isn't very accurate when they predict the weight. I only say this because it's harder to recover from C-section than vaginally. As for the 13th issue... I don't think it's a big deal. I think it would actually be cool.

They have been watching the size since I was 28 weeks and started measuring big. I have to see a perinatologist to have ultrasounds with a special computer program to make the measurements as accurate as possible. I am sure that they are not spot on, but they have been very consistent. I was born c-section because my mom has cephalo-pelvic disproportion and the doc is afraid I have that too. I was offered the chance to try and go into labor on my own, but the doc said that they probably would have to do a section in the end, so I decided to just go for it.
