please chose one and tell me why its better..my son is 3 and i want to know what one is better.

my son loves his leappad

LeapPad. It's easier for little hands, as the explorer requires a bit more knowledge of the games, like being able to use the arrow pad and such to get things done. LeapPad just has everything touch screen, so it's all done with the stylus. My daughter got hers at 3 and loves it still.

LeapFrog makes both the LeapPad2 and the Explorer, but they're two different systems.

LeapPad2 is very similar to the original LeapPad, with a few extras/improvements.

Explorer is actually a set back. They now have the Exporer GS which is an upgrade on the Explorer itself.
