A little worried.

posted 17th Nov
So my next ultrasound is Monday (2days away). I'm worried because at my 19week ultrasound they couldn't get all the measurements they needed, and I'm worried that it will happen again. The baby was laying face down and wouldn't roll over at the time. So they didn't get any measurements of the head or face and of some parts of the heart. We didn't get to find out what we were having, because the baby also had its legs crossed. I didn't have this problem with my first 2 pregnancies. The tech at my 19weeks said the baby probably has all the right measurements, its just there is no way to verify. It makes sence, but it hasn't kept me from worring, and it seems the closer I get to the ultrasound the more worried I seem to be.

You still have 20 weeks to go before you're due? I'd just take a breather, if the tech says to relax until the next ultrasound then no worries. A lot of times babies just aren't in the right positions for ALL measurements at once.

I'l be 22 weeks on monday when they do the next ultrasound. I worry a lot about the babies heart because I have GB and they say heart murmers are a common problem.

my oldest had a heart murmur but i didn't have GD. they didn't discover it until she was born. my third one has a heart murmur that didn't develop until after he was born, between his four and six month checks after he got really sick and was hospitalized. i know they are worrisome, but neither one was ever affected by them and both out grew them by 18 months. i wouldn't stress too much about it.

My first had a heart murmer. But the doc would always see it in the ultrasound. It was gone by her 4week check up. I guess its just another first for me. I just hope monday goes well. They want to do a heart monitor on the baby I'm not sure how that works. Its for the specialist for the GD.

Lol. Yea lots of time. But at least with the stress test you get to hear the baby more.   . I was giving the sugar test early because I have had it before. I never have blood sugar problems after just durring preg. I was told that Ill have more ultrasounds so they can keep an eye on the baby. So far I have only lost weight. my last visit was the only time I was at the same weight as before. Dr said its okay because I'm doing the low carb diet and Im not using meds. Or at least not having to yet.

I had to switch drs because my family dr stopped doing ob. He had to call the new dr to have them test me because they were going to wait until 28 weeks, despite the fact i've had it twice. They acted suprised that i failed both tests miserably lol.

Lol. Yea I pretty much knew I would have it. Well its official I can now tell everyone we are having a girl! She still had her head down..and she only turned her head for a few minutes. We were doing an ultrasound for over an hour n half so they finally said maybe another time she will turn over. I am happy to report that the heart looks great. And she doesn't have any spinal problems. We seen all her fingers and toes it was so cute! She also gave us a thumbs up!

I wouldn't worry, I think they do too many ultrasounds that aren't really needed nowadays back when our mother's had us or mine anyway 32 years ago they never got ultrasounds ... just another reason to worry... when you don't need too!!

My grandma said that its great to have the information now a days. because she never got that kinda of information there were always a lot more risks back then. I call her each time I have an ultrasound and she is always amazed to find out everything they can see. Then on thanksgiving il take the pictures for her to see.   I try not to worry, but an idea for me is better then not knowing, because if the baby would be too big, they would have to put me under and do a c-section. But for some women they can have an epidural and be able to see the baby after he/she is born. If the baby starts to be on ultrasounds over 9lbs I won't deliver, I won't risk the her getting her. Neither one of my other girls were that big, but it is what I tell the obs each time.
