I cant find one small enough...

Is there such thing as a Turkey you can buy around like 12 pounds? is that possible? its just me and my family eating so i really dont want a 19 pound turkey and thats all i can find.. the smallest ive seen was 17, im wondering if i should just cave in and get one around 17 pounds since ive gone to a couple stores and havent found a smaller one.

and i want a WHOLE turkey not just the breast.

not that i know of. turkeys are big ass birds, so unless you get just the breast, they're all 15+ pounds.

We had a ten pounder, but it was given to us by my husbands work. No idea where it came from haha.

Some fresh turkeys are smaller... but honestly, it's cheaper to get a bigger one. Turkey freezes well.  

They have 10 and 15 pound birds, not sure where to buy them from though.

I'm not sure if Hubby's family will either... we're living with his Mom, currently waiting for our new place to be finished cleaned/repainted/etc. so I want to wait until we move out, and his cousin has her baby as to not take away from her pregnancy.

i know they will get over it and eventually be excited. they just know that my SO needed to finish his apprenticeship and schooling first and I really wanted to go back to school too.. but it is what it is. we prevented. it happened. im pregnant, life goes on. we reaise my kids, no one pays our bills or puts food on the table so as far as im concerned people can shut it! lol

you can make lots of stuff like turkey pot pie, turkey and gravy on biscuits the morning after, turkey tacos etc etc

I got a 10 1/2 pounder, you can just call a grocery store or butcher and order one or ask them to save you one if they have one small enough.
