Oh joy

posted 17th Nov
My almost 3 year old decided it would be a great idea to stick a small rubber band up her nose (like the kind you use to do a toddlers hair or for braids.) This is not the first time she has stuffed something up there, I thought she learned her lesson when she stuck playdoh up there a couple months ago. She is fine, we'll probably just have to go to the doctor Monday and see if they can see it, the peds triage nurse didn't seem overly concerned. Oh toddlers....

I'm surprised they didn't have you take her to the ER. I had a tiny metal ball from a lip piercing lodged in my sinuses and I had to go to the ER to have it removed because I could have inhaled it into my lungs.

But really...Kids. They're so curious about their holes! My nephew is 5 and hasn't put anything in his nose....yet. But I saw a girl at the hospital once who shoved a rock up her nose! Ouch...

She isn't having any trouble breathing and no green snot, which is apparently their criteria. She hasn't complained about it hurting since she did it either. The playdoh freaked me out a lot more, she stuffed so much in there. I don't know what she was thinking. The nurse said the most likely thing that will happen is it will coat itself with snot and come out. Gross!

I tried looking up there with a flashlight and I can't see it, so I am kind of just trusting her word as it is as to whether or not it is really up there. She kept sticking her finger in her nose too. Great push it up farther kid. lol
